Detailed Job DescriptionRIT's Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering invites applications from highly motivated individuals looking to join a diverse, vibrant community of teacher-scholars as a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Successful candidates are expected to build a strong externally sponsored research program, advise Ph.D. and master's students, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate classes, advise undergraduate researchers and design teams, and work collaboratively to advance the goals of the department. We are currently seeking candidates with research and teaching expertise in the area of Smart Manufacturing Systems including robotics, automation, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies.

Required Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or closely related field
 - Research and teaching expertise in the area Smart Manufacturing Systems including robotics, automation, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies
 - Ability and commitment to effectively develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses
 - Ability to advise and mentor Ph.D., masters, and undergraduate students in research
 - Record of disseminating scholarly research in refereed (peer-reviewed) publications 
 - Demonstrated evidence of experience or potential to establish an independent externally sponsored research program
 - Excellent communication skills
 
Department/College DescriptionThe mission of the Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) Department (
https://www.rit.edu/kgcoe/ise/) is to provide ISE education that integrates experiential learning and applied research with a student-centered approach, resulting in graduates who make immediate and long-lasting contributions to manufacturing, service, government, and academia. The ISE Department houses state-of-the-art laboratories that support courses and research activities and provide hands-on educational experiences. The AMPrint Center has world-class facilities with multimillion-dollar state-of-the-art additive manufacturing equipment supported by several full-time research scientists. The Brinkman Advanced Machine Tools Laboratory is a model for industry-academia partnership that provides access to advanced manufacturing capabilities. The Toyota Production Systems Lab mimics an assembly production facility and supports lean manufacturing training and research in intelligent material handling systems. The Human Performance Lab supports courses and research that require the integration of humans into the design of systems. Additional resources include the Healthcare Systems Engineering Lab and RIT's High Performance Computing Center. The ISE Department offers a BS in Industrial Engineering, MS degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, and a joint PhD in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
