What You Will Do
- Assist in supervising daily food production and service operations within a main dining or food service unit.
- Support overall administrative functions while ensuring consistent, high-quality operations.
- Orient, train, and supervise employees to successfully carry out assigned responsibilities and prepare for increased responsibility.
- Schedule staff effectively to meet business and operational needs.
- Evaluate employee performance, providing recognition, coaching, and corrective guidance as needed.
- Foster positive public relations with students, guests, and university personnel to create an exceptional dining experience.
- Monitor customer service and proactively address questions, concerns, and service needs.
- Order and requisition food and supplies in accordance with established specifications; recommend product pricing

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:
- Coursework in business, dietetics, culinary arts, food science, nutrition, hospitality, hotel, catering, restaurant, or institutional management, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Food service supervisory work experience.
- Coursework in business, dietetics, culinary arts, food science, nutrition, hospitality, hotel, catering, restaurant, or institutional management, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
